2013 Leadership Academy – An Opportunity for Growth
ShareApplications for the 2013 Leadership Academy are currently being accepted, which may result in requests from your staff to participate, or you may consider this an excellent professional development goal – for a member of your staff or yourself as a supervisor.
No matter your title, every employee can benefit from this 11-month, content-rich development opportunity that not only teaches participants about leadership styles, but also invokes a new level of self-understanding.
As a participant in the 2009 Leadership Academy, Kim Foster, manager of learning support services on Osceola Campus, says that her academy experience strengthened her leadership competencies and prompted her to pursue a PhD in educational leadership and management.
“Through my academy experience I gained an eclectic approach to leadership,” Kim said. “I apply much of what I learned in my daily work. I’ve taken the diverse behavior and personality styles of my staff and successfully created a cohesive working team by assessing and developing their unique strengths.”
