2020 Commencement Details for Faculty and Staff

A Message from Joe Richardson, Vice President, Student Affairs

Valencia’s Annual Commencement Ceremonies will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Addition Financial Arena at the University of Central Florida Orlando Campus (12777 Gemini Blvd North, Orlando). Commencement times are 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

  • Attendance is required for all tenured and tenure-track professors, counselors, librarians, certain program directors and non-tenure earning faculty working full-time assignments in summer A or the full summer terms.
  • Attendance to both ceremonies is also required for administrators and certain directors; please speak to your supervisor to confirm attendance.
  • Attendance is optional for annually appointed faculty who are working part-time in the summer sessions and other staff

All ceremony participants must wear full academic regalia.

An email has been sent to all faculty and staff who are in one of the categories listed above. Please check your email for a message from me that contains a survey link to RSVP for the Commencement Ceremony and details on ordering regalia and arrival times. Please complete this survey no later than Friday, March 20, 2020.

In mid-April, you will receive a reminder email with additional instructions for the ceremony and a parking permit.

Thank you for your support in making Commencement a memorable event for our graduates. We look forward to seeing you at Commencement.

If you have additional questions, please reach out to Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs Sonya Joseph at sjoseph@valenciacolleged.edu.
