A Look at the Global, Professional and Continuing Education Division Reorganization – Part I
ShareA message from Joe Battista, Vice President, Global, Professional and Continuing Education
For the past two and half years, change has been at the forefront for the Global, Professional and Continuing Education Division. What was once Continuing Education, focusing on language programs and incumbent workforce education and training, has expanded, and the division has added international student services and recruiting, the School of Public Safety and Advanced Manufacturing.
However, the synergies are abundant, as each area works very closely together and takes advantage of each other’s programs and services provided to students and organizations.
This has necessitated a reorganization to handle the change and growth within the three areas that comprise the division: 1) School of Public Safety, 2) Professional and Continuing Education and 3) Global and Continuing Education.
The School of Public Safety, directed by Jeff Goltz, executive dean, is a new model for the College and has gone through its own reorganization over the past year.
The current reorganization, effective Wednesday, July 1, 2015, appoints Carolyn McMorran to assistant vice president of Professional and Continuing Education and Lisa Eli to assistant vice president of Global and Continuing Education. Congratulations to both Carolyn and Lisa for their outstanding leadership and work, and we continue to look forward to their significant contributions to the College’s mission.
“A position reorganization such as this recognizes the strategic direction and growth of the program and department and addresses changes in workforce dynamics that better enable the College to meet the needs of our community,” said Jeff Nardo, manager, compensation. “It also recognizes and values the individuals at the College providing these invaluable services, by modifying their job descriptions and adjusting their compensation to match the work they do.”
In subsequent articles, the work of Professional and Continuing Education and Global and Continuing Education will be featured to fully explain the programs and services provided and detail additional changes within each area due to the reorganization.

Congratulations to Carolyn and Lisa. I remember when we all worked together at the Downtown Center and then at the Winter Park Campus. It is great to see both of you receive promotions!
