A Message from Kathleen Plinske, President, Osceola, Lake Nona and Poinciana Campuses

Every Wednesday from 1 to 2 p.m., the collegewide Career Center hosts interactive Workshop Wednesday Zoom sessions on topics related to career development with a focus on career exploration strategies and employment readiness. These free, virtual sessions are open to all students and staff. Pre-registration is required; students can find our weekly event topics with registration details on the Valencia events calendar and the Engage calendar. These workshops can satisfy Bridges Skillshop/workshop attendance requirements and will also count for points toward the Career Action Distinction (CAD).

The collegewide Career Center offers the CAD, which is a free co-curricular certificate program open to all students. CAD focuses on the development of career and transfer readiness skills. Students can earn this distinction by completing activities and attending Skillshops and events that are related to career development topics. Click here for a presentation that provides full details on how to earn the distinction as well as links to self-enroll into the Canvas course(s). We have cohorts starting in the fall and spring semesters at all of our campuses, and students will have three semesters to earn the CAD.

While we are working remotely, students are encouraged to connect with us by submitting an Ask a Career Advisor form.
