Advanced Manufacturing Training Center Lease Agreement Approved
Valencia’s District Board of Trustees (trustees) sanctioned terms for a lease agreement that would allow the College to rent an Osceola County building to house an Advanced Manufacturing Education and Training Center, which will train students in advanced manufacturing. Under the agreement, Valencia will lease the facility for seven years, with an option to extend the agreement for another three years.
The facility is located near Florida’s Turnpike and U.S. Highway 192, close to the site of University of Central Florida’s planned Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center. For more information, visit the Valencia News site.
Trustees Approve New Food Services, Dining and Catering Vendors
During the February 25, 2015 board meeting, the trustees commissioned the College to begin negotiations with short-listed respondents to the Food Services, Dining and Catering Collegewide Invitation to Negotiate. The following respondents were selected for negotiations: FSI, Inc. and Ovations Food Services, LP for retail food services, and the Vending Station and Canteen for vending services.
After the review and analysis of the best and final offers, the negotiation team unanimously agreed that FSI, Inc. and Canteen offered the best combination of value to the College for food and vending services. This recommendation was presented to the trustees, who approved their recommendation.
