Campus Construction: Get the 411

The University of Central Florida (UCF)-Valencia Downtown Campus is undoubtedly a massive undertaking. With the campus designed to house a diverse array of programs, from digital media to health information technology to culinary arts and hospitality, the academic epicenter will span 15 acres at the intersection of Parramore Avenue and Livingston Street and bring with it a significant economic impact.

Recently, the UCF selection committee selected the design/build teams to design and construct the new campus, scheduled to open in fall 2018. Even more recently, the team identified five teams in the running to design and build the $10 million 600-space parking garage that will accompany the Downtown Campus and accommodate 7,700 students, as well as faculty and staff.

The selected team will be responsible for designing a sophisticated garage, equipped with a system that communicates open parking spaces by floor (similar to Disney Spring’s recently opened parking garages), message boards at the entrance and license plate recognition technology.

On Tuesday, July 19, 2016, UCF announced the following design/build team finalists:

Later this month, each team will present proposals and interview with the selection committee, with the formal election of a team coming in September.
