Chef Jennifer Denlinger to Showcase Culinary Skills at the 2018 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

Much like the chef who inspired the unlikely hero of Disney • Pixar’s “Ratatouille,” Professor of Culinary Management Jennifer Denlinger believes that, with the proper training, “anyone can cook.” While none of Jennifer’s current students physically resemble “Ratatouille’s” rodent protagonist, the film’s anyone-can-do-it theme certainly inspires her role at Valencia and beyond as an educator passionate about teaching others to achieve their culinary ambitions.

Equally enthusiastic about empowering students to earn a Valencia degree and helping everyday, at-home chefs discover new techniques and recipes, Jennifer often seeks opportunities to share her knowledge throughout the community with a special focus on Florida farm-to-table-style cooking. This September, she’ll join a lineup of fellow culinary all-stars as a demonstrator during the 2018 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival. On Friday, September 7, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., she’ll present how to prepare Coffee Thyme-Rubbed Skirt Steak with Florida Avocado and Sweet Corn Salsa, Garlic Yucca Fries using Florida-sourced ingredients.

No stranger to Walt Disney World, this will be the former Disney apprentice’s third appearance as a Food & Wine Festival demonstrator.

“I received my initial culinary training through an intense apprenticeship program that Disney offered at the time —  Disney’s Culinary Academy,” Jennifer said. “I have many friends who are chefs who work at Disney, and I have always kept in touch with them. I love doing these demos. I like seeing my friends who work there. I like being back in the magic and the excitement of being on stage.”
