A Message from Terri Graham, Interim President, West and Downtown Campuses
Our culinary students recently attended a Walt Disney World cooking demonstration with Chef Nanor Harboyan — a sous chef at Disney’s California Grill, located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Chef Nanor graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from Collins College of California State Polytechnic University and obtained a culinary degree from Florence University of the Arts in Florence, Italy. She joined the Walt Disney Company in 2014 as a sous chef intern at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and has since worked in a wide variety of restaurants at the Walt Disney World Resort.
During her two-hour cooking demo for 50 students, Chef Nanor prepared several sushi rolls to teach the students how Disney creates sushi.
“Fascinating to us is the fact that there are three people making sushi every night, up to 100 rolls per sushi roller,” shared Chef Kenneth Bourgoin, professor, culinary management.
The students were impressed with Chef Nanor’s use of ingredients, neatness and organization of her prep station, and how she shared many preparation methods during the demonstration.
