A Message from Carrie Black, Director, Energy Conservation and Sustainability
Earth Day and Month is a great opportunity to learn more about the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals are the blueprint for achieving a better and more sustainable future for all. They address the global challenges we face, including poverty, inequality, climate change, environmental degradation, and peace and justice; however, it may feel overwhelming or even seem impossible that the average person can make an impact.
Change starts with every human on earth — even the most indifferent person. So whether you’re at your limit just trying to make it through the week between work and family (I’m right there with you!) or are still skeptical about what you can really do, the United Nations has created “The Lazy Person’s Guide to Saving the World,” or we can call call it the “Guide to Saving the World When You’re Workin’ 9-5.” The guide includes things you can do right from your couch that make a difference.
