Education and Professional Development Leave Available for Full-time Staff and Administrators

Eligible full-time staff and administrators have a new employee benefit — Education and Professional Development leave.

This new program provides paid leave to foster learning opportunities for eligible full-time administrators, non-instructional exempt employees and non-exempt employees to support Valencia’s mission and enhance the individual’s future contributions to Valencia. The types of activities that may warrant this leave include experiences such as job shadowing in an applicant’s respective industry or gaining clinical experience for a graduate program.

The application process will open once a year, and the 2019 application will be available on Monday, September 10 and due by Monday, October 8, 2018. Stay tuned to The Juice and The Grove for details.

Full-time administrators and staff who are eligible may apply for this program upon completion of four years of continuous qualifying service, if the applicant is not in the Deferred Retirement Option Program (DROP) and will have completed five years of continuous Valencia service before the education/professional development leave begins. Eligible employees may be granted leave at full salary as follows:
