A Message from Tom Keller, Director, Benefits
Many Valencia colleagues — and people throughout the nation — may be experiencing intense feelings, even anxiety, as a result of the recent election.
As Carolyn Gregoire explains in her Huffington Post column, “Many Americans are experiencing a sense of loss on multiple levels. Some feel that they have lost the country they knew and loved, and perhaps have even lost their sense of optimism about the future.”
Those looking forward to change may be struggling to understand these feelings while still offering support to colleagues and friends with different views. And Valencia is here to help.
Recognizing that this is a sensitive and, for some, an emotionally challenging time, Valencia has made the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) available to all employees, including part-time employees, through Saturday, December 31, 2016.
It is Valencia’s hope that, through EAP’s confidential services, employees can mentally and emotionally find the support to sort through and process their feelings.
