A Message from Kathleen Plinske, President, Osceola and Lake Nona Campuses
As part of our growing partnership with the School District of Osceola County (SDOC), our Osceola/Lake Nona Faculty and Instructional Development team supported the SDOC’s annual Professional Development Day for K-12 science teachers. Faculty Developer/Instructional Designers Gary Kokaisel and Lynn Desjarlais shared ways to incorporate meaningful technology into student classrooms through tools such as Plickers, Quizlet, PowToon and Animoto.
Shara Lee, our campus director for faculty and instructional development, believes that this collaborative opportunity was a win-win for Valencia and the SDOC, as this type of technology integration will help prepare our future students for the types of engaging experiences that they will experience in Valencia classrooms. Our partners at the SDOC valued the opportunity to learn about emerging technology tools that support student learning.
