Faculty, Osceola Campus’ Early Alert Pilot Needs Your Help

A Message from Kathleen Plinske, President, Osceola, Lake Nona, and Poinciana Campuses

All Osceola Campus full-time and part-time faculty members teaching full-term classes are invited to participate in our Early Alert Intervention Pilot project. This project helps our academic advisors connect with students who have an in-progress grade of C, D, F or W to provide them with resources and information to improve their chances at course success and long-term retention. It is easy to participate. All you have to do is input your students’ current class grades into Banner/Atlas by Friday, February 14, 2020, using one of the following methods:

  1. Input class grades into the midterm grade tool in Atlas: Faculty Tab > Faculty & Advisor Services > Mid Term Grades
  2. Sync your Canvas gradebook to Banner using the Sync Grades tool: Canvas > Grades > Sync Grades > Export Midterm Grades to Banner
  3. Bring your students’ current class grades to one of the Learning Day sessions on the Early Alert project.

You may wish to let your students know that you have completed this process and someone may be reaching out to them.

Please contact Melissa Pedone, interim executive dean, Osceola Campus, at mpedone@valenciacollege.edu, or John Britt, campus director, advising, at jbritt2@valenciacollege.edu if you have any questions about this project.
