A Message from Wendy Givoglu, Interim President, East and Winter Park Campuses
Are you searching for a way to steady your mind and heart, especially in these uncertain times? Research indicates significant benefits to well-being from mindfulness and meditation practice.
Koru Mindfulness is a four session, non-credit course, taught by Winter Park Counselor Marcia Roman, that will teach you the skills of mindfulness and meditation. The curriculum was developed by two psychiatrists at Duke University and has been validated in a randomized control trial that showed participants’ improvement in sleep and concentration — which affect our ability to learn — as well a reduction in stress and anxiety and increased self-compassion. Class attendance is required in all four class meetings.
Two of four different classes that are currently scheduled for spring 2021 still have seats. Click here for the schedule. Seats are limited and classes have been filling up, so check your schedule and register for one of the classes below.
