Hank Van Putten Gives TED Talk on Racism

Kudos to Hank Van Putten, part-time faculty, New Student Experience, for presenting a TED Talk on racism.

Titled “When it Comes to Racism, Are You a Non or an Anti?” the talk carries an important message of equity. Watch the talk below.

Hank has been presenting on racism and fighting for social justice for years. He is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including the Outstanding Anti-Racism Educator Award from Newton Public Schools, the Newton Human Rights Commission Annual Award, a Horace Mann Grant for “Sharing the Concepts of the Efficacy Approach with Teachers,” and a Charles Brown Fellowship where he co-taught issues of racism with a sixth grade social studies teacher, that culminated with a visit from members of the New England Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen.

Hank has also facilitated numerous sessions with Valencia’s Peace and Justice Institute on racism.
