Honors Students Welcomed During Special Event

More than 100 Valencia College honors faculty and students participated in the Friday, September 11, 2015, Seneff Honors Welcome Reception at the West Campus Special Events Center.
Event speakers included Valencia College President Sandy Shugart, who opened the event with an inspirational message to students, followed by Cheryl Robinson, director, honors program, who spotlighted the leaders of the program tracks.
Included in the introduction were members of the East and Winter Park Campus honors leadership teams:
East Campus:
Michelle Foster, campus dean of academic affairs; Tina Crane, academic advisor (honors); and Jane Maguire, professor of reading and coordinator of honors
Winter Park Campus:
Susan Dunn, manager, credit programs and coordinator of honors; Kera Coyer, academic advisor (honors); and Linda Firmani, counselor
Following the formal presentations, students participated in breakout sessions by campus track:
- East Campus – Undergraduate Research Track
- Winter Park Campus – Global Studies Track
- Osceola Campus – Leadership Track
- West Campus – Interdisciplinary Studies Track
