In Remembrance — Rebecca Edwards Newman, Osceola Campus Professor of English

A Message from Kathleen Plinske, President, Osceola, Lake Nona, and Poinciana Campuses

On Saturday, March 9, 2019, Rebecca Edwards Newman, a former member of the Communication and Languages division at the Osceola Campus, passed away. Rebecca was surrounded by her family, including her husband Marc and their three sons. Rebecca began teaching at the Osceola Campus in 2011 as a part-time faculty member, then moved into a temporary appointment and ultimately a tenure-track position in English.

Rebecca left the college in the spring of 2017 to tend to her health. At her memorial service, her husband had kind things to share about the support she received from the College and her colleagues during her difficult journey.

If you would like to make a donation in Rebecca’s name, her family suggests Tag! Children’s Museum or Willow Star Haven Charitable Foundation.
