“The future depends on what we do in the present.” — Mahatma Gandhi

The Internship and Workforce Services Office is dedicated to assisting students in transitioning from college to the workplace by connecting them with employers through an internship program, job search assistance, networking opportunities, on-campus recruitment events, job fairs and a new online job board called Navigator, where students can search for and apply for employment or internship opportunities.

Every actively enrolled student at Valencia has an account on Navigator that can be accessed through Atlas, and students who have graduated can access Navigator through their Atlas account for up to two years. The Internship and Workforce Services team works directly with employers to help them post their jobs to the site, and as of January 2014, employers posted an average of 89 new part-time and full-time jobs and 30 new internships each month.

The Internship and Workforce Services team also works directly with employers to bring them to Valencia for on-campus recruitment events for part- and full-time jobs as well as internship opportunities that allow students to apply work-related competencies, learn professional work behavior and gain valuable workplace experience, all while earning college credit. Last year, more than114 employers provided internship opportunities in program areas from accounting to theatre.

Please encourage students to take advantage of these resources by visiting the Internship and Workforce Services Office online or in person at West Campus, SSB, Room 235, or contacting Carmen Diaz at cdiaz@valenciacollege.edu or extension 1035.
