After an extensive national search and a rigorous process involving multiple interviews, meetings with campus and college leadership and faculty/staff forums on both campuses, I am pleased to announce that Dr. Shara Lee has been selected as the inaugural campus director of faculty and instructional development at Osceola and Lake Nona Campuses. Shara will provide campus leadership for faculty and instructional development programs, curriculum, systems and support that promote excellence and innovation in teaching, learning and scholarship.
Shara joined Valencia College in July 2013 and will be transitioning from her current position of assistant director for faculty and instructional development at the Winter Park Campus. She comes to Valencia from the University of Central Florida, where she was a five-year faculty member in the Office of Experiential Learning and an instructor in the Rosen College of Hospitality Management. In October she received the Outstanding Experiential Education Research Award for 2013, which is awarded by the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE).
Shara looks forward to bringing her experience to the Office of Faculty and Instructional Development and collaborating with campus colleagues in her new role. We encourage you to stop by the Center for Teaching/Learning Innovation in Building 4 Room 124 to meet our new colleague.
