Join Open Town Halls With College President Kathleen Plinske

Tuesday, September 7, 2021

Join Valencia College President Kathleen Plinske for open town halls to discuss and explore the role of the new equity leadership position. As shared in her College Update on Wednesday, August 18, the equity leadership position will be a vice president-level role, responsible for the strategy and oversight of our varied initiatives focused on expanding opportunity and equity at Valencia.

Equity Leadership Town Halls

Date: Friday, September 10, 2021
Time: 9 – 10 a.m.
Location: Zoom

Date: Tuesday, September 14, 2021
Time: 4 – 5 p.m.
Location: Zoom

These town halls are a part of our infrastructure design related to the leadership for equity and opportunity. As outlined by former College President Sandy Shugart, we need focused leadership to guide our reviews, facilitate redesign and implementation and build accountability into our systems. A Leadership for Equity and Opportunity Infrastructure Design team has been working diligently to develop well-researched options for the function of the Leadership for Equity and Opportunity office, and this is the next step in the process.

Don’t miss this opportunity to ask questions and provide your input and perspective on this equity leadership position.

Monthly Town Halls Starting This Month

In addition to the town halls for equity leadership, Kathleen will begin hosting monthly open town halls as she continues to listen, engage and connect with faculty, staff and students to hear concerns, answer questions and provide timely updates. Details for September’s Open Town Hall are below:

Date: Friday, September 17, 2021
Time: 1 – 2 p.m.
Location: Zoom

Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.
