Learning Day 2013: Reminders and Updates

We will celebrate our annual Learning Day this Friday, February 8 at the Wyndham Orlando Resort! Over 1,000 of you have registered and we want your day to be full of great conversation, celebration, and learning together.

The program begins at 9:00 a.m. in the Palms Ballroom of the resort Convention Center (download the resort map). Beverages will be ready prior to 9:00 a.m., so you may want to beat the rush, arrive a few minutes early, and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a colleague.

Driving and Parking

  • We STRONGLY encourage you to coordinate a carpool with your colleagues. You can carpool from any location most convenient for you and your fellow riders. You are welcome to park at West Campus (Parking Lot C), and carpool to the resort from there.
  • All carpoolers (drivers and riders) will be entered to win one of TWO laptop computers, courtesy of our Valencia Bookstore! When you get to the resort, check in at the carpooler table for your entry ticket.
  • If you are driving to the resort, you will find hotel staff ready to greet you and assist you with parking. Also, for your convenience, shuttles will be available to transport you from the furthest parking lots to the conference center.

Additional Breakout Session

  • Due to popular demand (and thanks to faculty member Subhas Rampersaud), we are able to offer an additional afternoon session titled Cultivating Inner Silence. In this session, Subhas will discuss the benefits of yoga, including reducing stress and finding inner harmony. No RSVP, or change in RSVP is required if you would like to attend this session. As with all the afternoon breakout sessions, participation will be on a first come, first served basis.

We are looking forward to our time together. If you have any questions about Learning Day, please don’t hesitate to contact me at abosley@valenciacollege.edu or at extension 8255.
