Mark Your Calendar for Upcoming Total Rewards Meetings about Recent FLSA Changes
ShareA Message from Amy Bosley, Vice President of Organizational Development and Human Resources
Please mark your calendar and register to attend one of the 15 Total Rewards open forums where you will learn more about changes coming this fall to our staff salary schedules, overtime processes and other updates required to comply with recent changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Because of the changes required to comply with the new regulations, we have thoroughly reviewed our compensation system (including our three staff salary schedules: career, professional and OIT) and a number of policies and procedures to create more inclusive, streamlined and, where possible, more efficient systems and processes. Before I go any further, I want to assure you that, though we are changing our salary schedule, no one will lose base pay. All staff will be assigned a new pay grade in the new salary schedule, but base pay will not change.
Though we will not share any employee-specific information in the forums, you’ll learn more about the new salary schedule, a proposed new staff association and have an opportunity to learn about/comment on the policy and procedural changes that will be shared with the District Board of Trustees in November. Faculty will not be impacted by the changes proposed, but are encouraged to attend and provide feedback on proposed policies.
More information will be available in future editions of The Juice and affected staff will receive personalized information in October.
