New COVID-19 Vaccines Library Guide Offers Helpful Information and Resources
ShareTuesday, March 16, 2021
To help address the concerns of students, faculty and staff, a team of Valencia College librarians has created a new COVID-19 Vaccines Guide to serve as a one-stop source for the latest developments related to COVID-19 vaccines.
The guide offers information on how to get the vaccine or pre-register to receive it in Florida, the latest eligibility requirements, and links to information on currently offered vaccines in addition to those still in development.
It also includes information on vaccine safety and efficacy, as well as the latest guidelines on who should and shouldn’t consider vaccination. In addition, the guide features an “after-vaccination” section, which covers what to expect in terms of potential side effects and provides detailed information on how to report any adverse reactions should they occur.
All information from the site comes from vetted, reputable sources, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Food and Drug Administration and the Florida Department of Health, so its users can be sure to receive the best information available as the landscape surrounding COVID-19 vaccines continues to evolve.
Additional resources for further research are also outlined within the guide, including library databases and streaming content about COVID-19. Users can find direct links to other Valencia COVID-19 resources from library research guides, our family resources guide for families with children and the Valencia College website.
Employees are encouraged to bookmark and visit the guide often for the latest updates and to share and promote the website to students and others in the Valencia community who are interested in learning more about vaccination.
