New Employee Onboarding: Do You Know What Your Employees Are Learning?
ShareAs a supervisor, it is important that you are aware of the tools, resources and information your employees are learning through the onboarding process. Whether you are currently hiring a new employee or will be in the future, take time to review and participate in the four sessions within Valencia Forward for a refresher.
Valencia Forward, our employee onboarding program, is designed to provide new employees with the tools, skills and resources to become active, effective and engaged employees. There are four Valencia Forward modules, consisting of three online sessions, followed by an in-person workshop to aid employees in understanding and navigating the College. The online sessions, which are available in the Valencia EDGE, include:
- Valencia Who – An overview of Valencia’s culture, mission, vision and core competencies
- Valencia in Review – A review of policies, procedures and governance structures
- Valencia and Me – A road map for your professional and personal development at the College
Valencia Sharing, the fourth and final session, is an in-person workshop held on Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 2:30 – 4 p.m. on Osceola Campus to celebrate new employees’ first year of service at Valencia and learn about our culture of collaboration and opportunities to get involved and stay connected.
In addition to these informative sessions, there is also a Valencia Forward brochure, which includes important information, reminders and checklists for supervisors, as you prepare to welcome a new employee onto your team.
