New Microaggressions Course — Sign Up Today

You may have heard of the term microaggressions and wondered what that means. Microaggressions are comments or actions that subtly and often unconsciously express a biased attitude toward a member of a marginalized group.

That said, Faculty Development and Employee Development are excited to announce a new scheduled series of course sessions for INDV3145 Understanding Microaggresions. This course, facilitated by Shari Koopman, professor, English, and Daniel Iglesias, instructional designer/developer, will examine the role of microaggressions in the workplace and classroom and explore strategies to counteract their impact.

The upcoming workshops include:

Date: Tuesday, March 3, 2020
Time: 4 – 6 p.m.
Location: East Campus, Building 6, Room 217

Date: Friday, May 29, 2020
Time: 9 – 11 a.m.
Location: West Campus, Building 1, Room 149

Date: Tuesday, June 2, 2020
Time: 1 – 3 p.m.
Location: Osceola Campus, TBD


These sessions are open to both faculty and staff. Faculty members will earn 2 PD hours upon completion of the face-to-face course. To register for any session, click here.
