By Michelle Sever, Director, Human Resources Policy and Compliance
Two new policies were amended and approved at the October 2017 District Board of Trustees meeting that are important for supervisors to be aware of. The high-level changes for these policies are as follows:
This policy outlines admissions requirements for applying to the College. To help applicants meet documentation requirements, new regulation allows the College flexibility to accept alternative admissions documentation when significant, extenuating circumstances occur beyond the student’s control. A recent example of this are those students displaced by Hurricane Maria. The policy’s procedures provide more specific information on the standards for the validity and acceptability of alternative documentation.
If you have questions on this policy, please contact Linda Herlocker, assistant vice president, admissions and records, at email@example.com or 407-299-5000, extension 1511, or Nick Estee, director, admissions and registration, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 407-299-5000, extension 2203.
The College recognizes the value of non-motorized, wheeled vehicles on campus such as bicycles, skateboards, scooters, etc. The policy was amended to reverse the exclusion and now welcomes these methods of travel outdoors on any campus or at any other facility operated by the College. The policy’s procedures provide more information on the areas and conditions in which employees, students and visitors can use non-motorized vehicles on campus.
