In this Meet the Team series, we invite you to peel back the curtain and learn about the incredible group of people who make up Valencia’s Public Affairs and Marketing team, which is tasked with supporting the College by voicing Valencia’s stories, showcasing the successes of the College’s students and employees, and highlighting Valencia’s impact on the community. In this week’s edition, we invite you to learn more about Stephanie Howell, who oversees community relations.
Tasked with creating and maintaining vital community connections, Stephanie Howell, director, community relations and economic development, serves as a liaison between Valencia and the Central Florida community.
“Community Affairs works with many areas of the College and builds on a long history of community involvement,” Stephanie explained. “It also has a strong tie-in to the College’s Community Impact Plan.”
To accomplish the establishment of meaningful community relations, the key elements of Stephanie’s work include building relationships with community leaders, offering community support to partner organizations like Orange and Osceola Counties, serving as an informational resource about the College, increasing public awareness and support of the College and working on community initiatives.
Stephanie is not the only one, however, responsible for these community-building activities.
“While Community Affairs serves as a point of contact for the College,” Stephanie said, “we all play a role as community ambassadors of Valencia.”
