Rejuvenate Your Plate with Student Entrepreneur Juvena Clerville

Our vision states Valencia College is a premier learning college that transforms lives, strengthens community and inspires individuals to excellence. And while we transform, strengthen and inspire individuals every day, this vision is particularly true for Valencia student Juvena Clerville — a student entrepreneur who launched Ju’s Private Dining, an in-home, personal chef service that allows clients to have a worry- and work-free dinner party.

“I was encouraged to launch the business while attending Professor [Matthew] Kenney’s Introduction to Business course during the fall 2017 semester,” said Juvena, who is majoring in business administration. “By Christmas, my business was licensed and generating revenue.”

She currently has a growing list of clients, enthusiastic followers on social media and plans for a dedicated YouTube channel to provide instructional videos.

“Juvena is a wonderful example of the talented entrepreneurial students here on West Campus,” said Matthew who informally guides a dozen students on issues related to starting and managing small businesses. “It’s an honor to play a small part in her professional journey by providing some advice and encouragement. Juvena is instantly likable and immensely talented.”

Juvena is currently enrolled in Matthew’s Principles of Marketing class, where she is applying what she learns daily. “Running a business is challenging, but making my clients and their guests happy is very rewarding,” said Juvena.
