Reminder: Access to Banner 8 Ends Next Week

Attention all Banner users: this week is the last week to access Banner 8. Beginning on Monday, November 5, 2018, Valencia will fully transition to Banner 9, and Banner 8 (our current version) will no longer be accessible.

Hopefully, you have had a chance to become familiar with Banner 9 over the past few weeks, while the new version, Banner 9, has been available in parallel with Banner 8. You still have a few days left, through Friday, November 2, 2018, to use Banner 8; however, we encourage you to work in the new version as much as possible in preparation for the transition. Remember that while working in either version, you only need to complete work once in either environment as you will be updating records live when in Banner 8 or 9. Please note that while Banner 9 will work on any browser, Chrome is the recommended browser for Banner 9.  For best results, please use Chrome when working in Banner, starting on Monday.

Resources and Training Materials

Training resources and materials will continue to be available in the Banner 9 Resources channel, to include navigation videos, instructional webinars for each Banner module, shortcut documents and many other informational items. Procurement training materials have been updated and are also available in the channel. Once in the Banner 9 Resources Channel, visit the Tips and Tricks section to print all new training materials.

The Banner 9 Resources channel is available and accessible in Atlas on either the Employees tab or on the Budget tab on the right side of the page. We ask that you continue to reference the Banner 9 Resources channel as it will be updated with announcements and important information and material to assist you.

Additionally, on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 2 – 3 p.m., the Procurement team will offer an informal webinar to review the Requisition process, discuss changes and answer questions. If you are interested, email valenciaprocurement@valenciacollege.edu to receive an invitation.

Again, this upgrade is designed to give us a number of important enhancements, including a modern, web-based look, enhanced navigation and process management tools, as well as new functionality that we hope will make the new platform user-friendly and easier to navigate.
