Report a Tip and Find Emergency Contacts in the Valencia College Safety Mobile App

Over the past two weeks, we’ve introduced you to the new Valencia College Safety mobile app, designed to provide an additional layer of security for our employees, students and visitors. This final week in the series, we’ll explore the app’s remaining features:

Emergency Contacts
If you’d like to call Security but can’t remember the phone number, tap “Emergency Contacts” to find a list of all Security department numbers, including our campuses, the School of Public Safety, the Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, the Fire Institute and the McCoy Annex. You can also call 911 or the police department for your respective campus’ jurisdiction.

Report a Tip
Have you spotted a non-emergency campus crime? Click “Report a Tip” to send details about the issue directly to the Security department.

Safety Toolbox
Select the “Safety Toolbox” and you’ll find a flashlight to use during evening work hours. You can also share a map of your location via email with a friend or colleague.

Campus Maps
If you’re visiting another campus and need some assistance finding a building, Valencia’s campus maps are handy in the app.

Emergency Plans
Ever wonder about what to do during certain emergencies such as an active shooter situation, bomb threat, a fire, severe weather or if you see a suspicious package? The Valencia College Safety mobile app provides emergency plans to guide you. Of course, we recommend reading these before an emergency situation to prepare yourself.

Helpful Resources
If a student asks you a question you can’t answer, the “Helpful Resources” button will take you to directly to our Student Services webpage with information on Admissions and Records, Advising and Counseling, the Answer Center and other student resources.

If you haven’t yet downloaded the app, we invite you to do so today. If you have any questions or feedback after you use the app, please contact Art King, assistant director, security, at or 407-299-5000, extension 1327.
