Roadmap for Reopening: Training for Supervisors with Employees Returning to Campus in Phase 2

Do you have team members returning to campus during Phase 2 beginning Saturday, August 1, 2020? Be sure to attend a special training designed for you, “Return to Campus: Phase 2 for Supervisors of On-campus Employees.” This session will share ways to provide support and care for employees during this time of uncertainty and transition. Session presenters will also preview what employees can expect from Valencia, what is expected of supervisors and what is expected of all employees, students and vendors during Phase 2.

An appointment will be sent to supervisors who should attend with the Zoom details. If you have team members returning in Phase 2, watch for an email from orgdevelopment@valenciacollege.edu.

Optum Employee Assistance Program

Also, remember that you can refer any employee to the Optum Employee Assistance Program for support.

For full-time employees, Valencia College’s Optum Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is available to employees, dependents, and members of their household to help them cope with life events. Call 866-248-4094 (24 hours a day, 365 days a year) and use the access code: Valencia. Employees may also log on to www.liveandworkwell.com and use the access code: Valencia. Optum EAP provides confidential, short-term counseling at no cost to the employee. Optum EAP’s website offers many strategies to help employees cope with the stress and challenges of COVID-19, including on-demand webinars and articles.

For part-time employees, Optum is offering a free emotional support help line. This help line provides access to specially trained mental health specialists. Optum’s public toll-free help line number, 866-342-6892, will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for as long as necessary. This service is free of charge and is open to anyone. Specially trained Optum mental health specialists help people manage their stress and anxiety so they can continue to address their everyday needs. Callers may also receive referrals to community resources to help them with specific concerns, including financial and legal matters.
