Save the Date for Learning Day 2019

It’s nearing that time when we come together to be inspired, to learn and to celebrate. Please save the date for Learning Day 2019, which will be held Friday, February 15, 2019. All faculty and staff are invited to attend Learning Day, which will be held again this year on our campuses.

Be sure to read The Juice and your Campus Concentrate newsletters, as additional details will be shared via those publications as locations and programming are finalized.

Please note that all Valencia campus locations will be closed on Friday, February 15, 2019, in observation of Learning Day, and all full-time employees who do not have an approved certificate of absence are required to attend.

West Campus Learning Day 2019 Call for Proposals

A Message from Falecia Williams, President, West and Downtown Campuses

Learning Day is only a little over one month away on Friday, February 15, 2019. Along with the camaraderie that the day brings is the time we have to learn from one another.

As a reminder, we need you, the experts in our College community, to share your talents, knowledge and expertise to help make this an enlightening and memorable day for all. If you’d like to present during Learning Day, our West and Downtown Campus Planning Committee is seeking sessions for the following learning tracks:

  • Creativity and Innovation
  • Equity and Belonging
  • Health, Wellness and Personal Development
  • Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
  • Student Experience and Impact
  • Sustainability

To submit a presentation proposal, click the button below. Proposals are due by Friday, January 11, 2019.As part of our Learning Day efforts to support our community, this year we’ll hold a Spring Cleaning event. We will hold a donation drive on Learning Day for non-perishable food, personal care items, and new or gently used clothing — including men’s and women’s business and semi-formal attire —  that we’ll sort during the day and distribute to Valencia students and other Central Florida organizations. For a list preferred personal care items, visit the Harbor House of Central Florida webpage and scroll half-way down the page.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and participation. I’m looking forward to celebrating, learning and inspiring — together!
