Schedule Your Preventative Exams for This Winter Break

A Message from Tom Keller, Director, Total Rewards

In just a few short weeks, winter break will allow us some time to rest, relax and spend time with family. If you expect to have some downtime on your break, what a perfect time to also schedule preventative care appointments, such as your annual wellness exam and immunizations. Routine preventive care helps you manage and maintain your health, and in-network providers are covered at 100% by Valencia College UnitedHealthcare plans.

For general guidelines on preventative care, click here to visit the UnitedHealthcare website. On this site, you’ll find a tool where you can enter your age and gender to create your own wellness exam checklist, which includes suggested screenings and immunizations. You’ll also find a handy tool to add a reminder to schedule an appointment to your calendar, a database of providers, your coverage details and guidelines to help you understand the difference between preventative and diagnostic care.

For questions or additional information, contact Organizational Development and Human Resources at, or call the HR4U helpline at 407-299-5000, extension HR4U (4748).
