Congratulations to our very own Gerald Pride, security officer at the District Office and West Campus, who won first place in several categories during the Family and Friends Regional Barbecue Cook Off in Fort Pierce, Florida. On Saturday, October 26, 2019, Gerald and his team — Mr. Taste So Good — competed against 11 other teams from South Florida.
Teams competed in four categories: 1) Chicken, 2) Fish/Seafood, 3) Pork/Pork Tenderloin, and 4) Ribs. Gerald’s team placed first in three out of the four categories listed below.
- Chicken – 1st place for BBQ Chicken
- Fish/Seafood – 1st place for bacon-wrapped scallops, cedar plank salmon and grilled shrimp
- Pork/Pork Tenderloin – 1st place fora grilled pork tenderloin and a bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin
And though they didn’t place first, his ribs did make an impressive third place ranking.
Kudos to you, Gerald! Keep cooking up those tasty meals (and cakes).
