Teaching/Learning Academy Campus Facilitator Position

A Message from Kathleen Plinske, President, Osceola, Lake Nona and Poinciana Campuses

Are you interested in joining the Teaching/Learning Academy (TLA) team? The Osceola Campus is searching for a TLA facilitator who will focus on supporting our new faculty members in their professional development, including facilitating their understanding of the Essential Competencies of a Valencia Educator and developing their Individualized Learning Plans. Campus facilitators require both strong leadership skills and understanding of the Essential Competencies. Travel between campuses is required and compensated.

Expressions of interest are encouraged from any Osceola Campus tenured instructors, counselors and librarians interested in working with our tenure-track faculty. This position requires a fall term 2018 and spring term 2019 commitment, compensated by six hours of reassigned time per term. Prior to applying, please discuss this opportunity with your dean since you will need to be available Tuesdays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on Thursday or Friday afternoons from 1 – 4:30 p.m., which may require adjustments to your fall course schedule.

To apply: After speaking with your dean, please send an email to Shari Koopman, professor, English, at skoopman@valenciacollege.edu with a couple of paragraphs explaining why you are interested in this work, and describe the professional and educational activities you feel qualify you for this position. Please express your interest by Friday, April 6, 2018.

If you have any questions, please contact your dean or Shari at skoopman@valenciacollege.edu or at 407-299-5000, extension 2945.
