The 2017 – 2018 academic year application process for sabbatical leave is now open. This year, we have a new approval process.
Applicants are required to have a conversation with their supervisor prior to submitting an application through the online system. Supervisors will be required to provide a plan for finding a replacement for the applicant’s teaching/work schedule, which will be submitted with the application form. Supervisors will also discuss the applicant and the replacement plan with the campus president/vice president and receive his or her verbal approval for the employee to continue the application process.
Below is a chart that shows the application process. Please encourage your employees who are interested in applying for sabbatical leave to follow this process and submit the application by Friday, October 16, 2015.
Remember that sabbatical leave is not only available to faculty members. It is also available to administrators and professional staff. Please help us share this information and encourage your professional staff team members to apply for sabbatical leave.
Eligible administrators or professional staff employees may be granted leave for up to four consecutive months at the regular salary rate or up to eight consecutive months at one-half of the regular salary rate.
