Upcoming Reading Circles on Equity and Belonging

A Message from Kathleen Plinske, Executive Vice President and Provost, and Campus President, Osceola, Lake Nona, and Poinciana Campuses
All faculty and staff are invited to participate in a reading circle to help inform our working theories, hypotheses, and perhaps a new big idea related to closing the gaps in student performance.
This fall, we’ll be reading “Whistling Vivaldi: How Stereotypes Affect Us and What We Can Do”; “Deep Diversity: Overcoming Us vs. Them”; and “Bandwidth Recovery: Helping Students Reclaim Cognitive Resources Lost to Poverty, Racism, and Social Marginalization.”
To participate in a reading circle, please complete this brief online survey to select your preferred circle and location by Friday, September 14, 2018. I look forward to learning alongside you.
