Valencia Becomes an ENERGY STAR Partner

As part of Valencia’s commitment to energy conservation, we have become an ENERGY STAR Partner. This means the college is teaming up with one of the most recognized energy conservation brands in the world.

While most people are familiar with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR label on different consumer products, ENERGY STAR also works with school districts and higher education institutions to save energy through energy efficient practices.

As early as 2009, the college adopted a purchasing policy that requires the procurement of ENERGY STAR certified products wherever such ratings exist.

“As you see the ENERGY STAR logo throughout the college, we hope it reminds you not only of our commitment to being good stewards of our financial and environmental resources,” explained Deborah Green, director of sustainability, “but also of your role in making our energy conservation program a success.”

For Energy STAR resources that can help you save money at home and to see more on our Energy Education program, visit the sustainability website.
