Valencia Celebrates 48 Students at Nurse Pinning Ceremony

Congratulations to the 48 Valencia students who will soon complete the Nursing Associate in Science degree. Coming up this Wednesday, December 13, 2017, 38 traditional students and 10 accelerated track students will be pinned at a nurse pinning ceremony at Olympia High School.

Historically, nurse pinning ceremonies are a symbolic way of recognizing new graduates into the nursing profession. Upon receipt of their pins, graduates recite the Nightingale Pledge, named in honor of Florence Nightingale, which is a modified version of the Hippocratic Oath.
