Valencia Recognized as a 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education Institute

Monday, September 20, 2021

The Arbor Day Foundation has recognized Valencia College as a 2020 Tree Campus Higher Education institution. Tree Campus Higher Education, a national program launched by the Arbor Day Foundation, honors colleges and universities and their leaders for promoting healthy trees and engaging students and staff in the spirit of conservation.

To obtain this distinction, Valencia College met the five core standards for effective campus forest management, including establishment of a tree advisory committee, evidence of a campus tree care plan, dedicated annual expenditures for its campus tree program, an Arbor Day observance and the sponsorship of student service learning projects.

This was Valencia’s ninth year receiving this recognition.

Learn more about sustainability at Valencia and in the community by attending a session of this year’s virtual Valencia’s Sustainability Conference on Tuesday, October 12 – Thursday, October 14, 2021.

Yay for trees! Let us build a beautiful green wall between the east of Lake Pamela and Kirkman Road.
