Time: All screenings begin at 7 p.m.
Location: East Campus, Performing Arts Center

Not many people can say they can check out a movie at their workplace, but as a Valencia employee, that is a reality. And the best part – it’s all a part of your Total Rewards. Beginning this week, the Valencia College Film Production Technology program will once again celebrate filmmaking with the 21st Annual Film Celebration.

The event, from Thursday, February 11 through Saturday, February 13, 2016, at the East Campus Performing Arts Center, will feature films that Valencia students have worked on with industry professionals.

“Valencia College offers students the unique opportunity to collaborate on professional productions,” shared Film Production Technology Professor and Program Chair Eric Fleming. “The Film Celebration is a wonderful chance to honor the work of previous classes and support indie filmmaking in Central Florida.”

The highly anticipated “Heartbreak” will be shown, a film special to Valencia film alumni as it is the last one that the late program chair Ralph Clemente directed and produced.

The films “Ellie,” “Incentive For The Incentive” and “Broads & Bombers, A War Time Experience in Manpower” were made with the cooperation of the Film and Digital Media Programs. These films are great examples of interdisciplinary partnerships between both disciplines and highlight the strength of these Valencia programs.

For Valencia employees, students, senior citizens and members of the military, admission is $5 for a Day Pass and $15 for a Celebration Pass, which guarantees admission to all events. Tickets for the public cost $10 for a Day Pass and $25 for a Celebration Pass. All proceeds benefit the current class of film students to produce their own short projects to be screened at next year’s celebration.
