After substantial consideration of our work ahead, the strong partnership between the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Marketing department, and research of higher education institutions and their organizational structure, effective Monday, June 24, 2019, front-end web development services officially transitioned from OIT to the Marketing department. As our website is often the first place that students come to learn about Valencia College programs, this move helps enhance our marketing strategy to prospective students.
As a part of this transition, Web and Portal Developers Jeff Danser, Scott Hood and James Jordan are now a part of the Marketing team, reporting to Director of Interactive Marketing Craig Blazejewski. Web and Portal Developers Melanie Hardy and Jeffrey Reed, who are responsible for our back-end development and programming, will remain in OIT.
With this change, all website development requests will be handled by the Marketing department as the team is responsible for Valencia College web content, look and feel. This includes the administration of our recently implemented content management system (CMS) — OmniUpdate.
In the meantime, please continue to submit your web work requests to the OIT Service Desk, and they will be forwarded accordingly. We will keep you informed of the new way to submit requests in the near future as we work to redesign our processes and procedures.
This change should help to streamline, align and foster the natural synergy that exists in our work. The OIT and the Marketing teams will continue our collaborative approach as our work is closely tied together.
