West Campus Drive Generates More Than 700 Pounds of Food Donated to Pooky’s Pantry
ShareA Message from Falecia Williams, President, West and Downtown Campuses
Thank you to all of the West Campus departments that participated in the recent Hunger Games Pooky’s Pantry Food drive. Through this drive, you donated more than 700 pounds of food, which will provide a full meal to approximately 580 students.
The drive, led by Valencia Volunteers Ashley Shaw and Dory Mauretour, offered a pizza party to the department that donated the most food or toiletries. That said, congratulations to the West Campus Math Department, which donated 271 pounds of donations.
“Our goal was to restock Pooky’s Pantry for students in need,” shared Ashley. “As the fall semester was approaching, we realized that we needed to stock the food pantry, so that when students came back from summer break, they would be able to retrieve food, if needed.”
If you would still like to donate to Pooky’s Pantry, please bring non-perishable items or toiletries to the Student Development Office in Building 3, Room 147.
