West Campus Staff Representatives Needed for Executive and Learning Leadership Councils

A Message from Falecia Williams, President, West and Downtown Campuses

Valencia has formed a new Valencia Staff Association, comprised of all staff members regardless of their role, exemption status or part-time or full-time classification. This association, which has replaced the previous career staff and professional staff associations, will serve as a voice for positive change and innovation through an expressed focus on inclusivity, growth and development, engaging staff and the community, staff appreciation and the reciprocal exchange of information.

In light of this new association, I am recruiting two West Campus staff members to serve as staff representatives for the Executive Council and the Learning Leadership Council. The representatives will act as liaison between the West Campus Staff Association and the respective council. In doing so, they will represent the West Campus staff perspective and voice, while relaying key information discussed during council meetings to the West Campus chapter of the Valencia Staff Association.

Representatives must be Valencia staff members and be able to attend the annual governance retreat on Friday, July 28, 2017, from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the West Campus Special Events Center.

If you’re interested in representing West Campus in this capacity, please email me at fawilliams@valenciacollege.edu to express your interest by Friday, June 16, 2017.
