A Message from Oscar Cristancho Mercado, Assistant Vice President, Budgets and Analysis
I am pleased to announce that Yaremis Fullana has been named managing director, procurement. In her new role, she will provide leadership of the department’s mission of providing innovative procurement solutions to the College community.
Yaremis brings more than 22 years of experience of which 14 are in higher education. She is an accomplished and seasoned professional with a comprehensive background in education administration, program directing, financial and budgetary management, operations and office management.
Prior to her new role, she served as the director of auxiliary services providing oversight and strategic direction of Valencia’s Campus Stores. Among her achievements, she spearheaded the implementation of the online textbook adoption management software that has transformed the process by reducing the adoption timeline, increasing transparency by empowering academic partners with vital adoption data and supporting Valencia’s sustainability initiative by eliminating the need to print more than 15,000-plus forms annually.
Prior to Valencia, Yaremis held numerous leadership positions at Miami Dade College (MDC) including senior director of campus administration of MDC’s Downtown Campus. Yaremis holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree business administration from Florida International University. Yaremis is happily married and the proud mother of two young sons and her own small zoo of family pets.
