Announcing Valencia College’s 2021 Insurance Plans

Tuesday, September 29, 2020

A Message from Tom Keller, Director, Total Rewards

Now more than ever, you should determine which Total Rewards selections are right for you and your family, as open enrollment will take place Monday, October 19 – Friday, October 30, 2020. Benefits open enrollment is the once-a-year opportunity for full-time employees to enroll in or change health, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts and life and disability insurance.

Total Rewards is happy to announce some great news about Valencia College’s 2021 plans. Valencia’s premium costs are not increasing on any of our plans. For our medical plans, our premium costs have not increased for five years in a row, at a time when most employers are increasing costs or decreasing benefits.

Plan Enhancements

Each year, we evaluate our medical plans to see if there are any opportunities to help enhance our employees’ health care and wellness.

Beginning Friday, January 1, 2021, the specialist copay for Tier 1 providers will decrease for employees with Choice Plus Gold and Choice Plus Silver plans — Gold will decrease from $35 to $20 and Silver from $50 to $25. Please note that this will not apply to the Choice Bronze and Choice Plus HSA Silver plans as office visits in those plans do not have copays and are covered under the deductible/coinsurance.

By lowering the copay cost, we hope that you will actively engage in your health care decisions with your specialists — and ultimately, experience potential overall lower medical costs.

To search for Tier 1 providers, visit myUHC.com, sign in and then select “Find a Provider.” Tier 1 providers will be noted with that designation in their listing. To learn more about Tier 1 providers, review this flyer.
