April Supervisor Summit Provides Valuable Info for Supervisors

Thank you to all the supervisors who attended our latest Supervisor Summit on Friday, April 21, 2017, whether in person at Osceola Campus or virtually at Lake Nona, East, West or Winter Park Campuses.

With each Summit, we aim to improve, based on your feedback, so thanks to all of you who completed the survey that followed.

Your feedback showed that 88 percent of attendees were either very satisfied or satisfied with this Summit experience. Ample time provided for questions; the pertinent, need-to-know nature of the information provided; the chance to network with other supervisors; as well as the lively and upbeat nature of the presentations were all part of the positive feedback we received from you. Suggestions included adding a little more time to expand the conversations and the ability to instant message questions to presenters and/or hosts to make the process more seamless.

This Summit began with a rousing talk from Peace and Justice Institute (PJI) Director Rachel Allen highlighting the past 10 years of PJI at Valencia and in the wider community. Then, supervisors heard updates on Valencia’s Career Anniversary recognition program; our 50th Anniversary communications strategies; the vital work of our Title IX team, who rolled out the new Title IX Responsibilities job aid; the White House Student Loan Debt Challenge; and the new employee separation process.
