Congratulations to the Nursing Class of fall 2020.
A total of 38 students graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN to BSN program) and participated in a virtual pinning ceremony on Tuesday, December 8, 2020.
An additional 97 students also graduated with an Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN); of those, 23 were in the accelerated track. ASN track graduates were provided with a slideshow depicting their journey through their program, a PowerPoint containing the names of all the graduates, and a pinning booklet as a memento. They will attend a virtual pinning next term.
“This is YOUR day. We applaud you; we honor you and we are so fortunate to have such amazing students like you!,” said Ruby Alvarez, interim dean, nursing. “I am confident that as you embark on your next adventure, the path you blaze will continue to make Valencia College and the School of Nursing proud.”
Historically, nurse pinning ceremonies are a symbolic way of recognizing new graduates and welcoming them into the nursing profession. Graduating signals entry into the healthcare field and a commitment to serving others.
Valencia College is proud of our graduates and the role they will play in supporting our community’s healthcare needs.
