Destination 2017 Coming Soon … But With Changes

A Message from Dori Haggerty, Shara Lee and Stephanie Spong, Campus Directors, Faculty and Instructional Development

Mark your calendars for Destination 2017, which will take place on the first five Friday afternoons of the summer term — May 12, 19 and 26, and June 2 and 9, 2017.faculty-insight-news-id

Destination is an annual professional development program that brings Valencia colleagues together to explore teaching and learning innovations, as well as challenges and solutions. We hope you join us this summer with colleagues from diverse fields in this collegial, immersive, learning experience.

Our promise is that your classrooms will never be the same.

This year, we are planning another robust program with track topics to include sustainability, writing across the curriculum, open educational resources, active learning, inclusion and diversity, student engagement strategies and more. The application period for Destination 2017 will open in March. Further details will be available on the Destination Web page and by email soon. Important Note Regarding the Compensation for the Summer Program:
All tracks will award $500 for successful completion. Please note that, unlike past years, professional development (PD) hours will no longer be available as an option for the summer portion of the program. If you participate in a track that extends into the fall term, PD hours will continue to be awarded for the fall portion.

If you would like more information or have any questions about the program or process, please reach out to us or visit the Center for Teaching/Learning Innovation on your campus. For locations and contact information, click here.
