Grad Finale Helps Students Prepare for Commencement

Commencement is just around the corner, and our future graduates are getting ready. From Tuesday, February 28 through Thursday, March 9, 2017, students participated in Grad Finale, an event hosted by the Records and Graduation Department on East, Osceola, West and Winter Park Campuses to provide the graduates information to take the next steps in their lives, celebrate their Valencia milestones and achievements, and prepare for commencement.

Student Services offered a session to alert students of what to expect on commencement day, and the following departments and organizations shared information via tables at the event: Financial Aid, the Office of Veteran Affairs, Grad Images, Jostens, Career Services, the University of Central Florida, the Student Government Association, the Campus Store, the Office for Students with Disabilities and the Valencia Alumni Association.

The Alumni Association hosted a cap decorating table to congratulate and welcome new alumni to the Valencia alumni family. “I had several students sit down and tell me their stories of overcoming their struggles and how being able to decorate and put a message on their cap was a perfect closing to their hard-earned accomplishment,” shared Karissa Rodriguez, coordinator, alumni engagement and annual giving.
